Work Experience Review by Emma Hambridge
Emma Hambridge joined the League as a volunteer working in the Housing Department and was then offered a Part-time Post as Housing Admin Assistant working 10 hours per week.
We were delighted for Emma when she was offered a full-time Admin Post at Stoke University Hospital in the HR Department.
Emma had been for a few interviews for various Admin Posts before she joined the League but because she had no experience was not offered employment and that is why she applied for voluntary work with the League.
Emma left our organisation on 19th May 2023 and sent us the following review:
“I joined Stafford & Cannock League of Hospital Friends last July 2022, and worked with this team for under a year, finishing near the end of May 2023, and even though it was for a short while, I truly had such an incredible experience with this team and also so much fun.
I learnt new skills in admin and built up my confidence over time with the help of my team and the training I completed with them. During this period, they showed much patience and kindness, this helped me to progress at a quick yet comfortable rate. So many team members took my learning difficulty and disorder into account and worked with me on the best methods for my training with myself and were very happy to put in any necessary adjustments, which I deeply appreciated.
This team are truly some of the most caring, and also crazy fun people you will ever meet, and are wonderful to work with. They look out for each other and work as a team really well, both the housing, maintenance and finance team. They work brilliantly together as well as apart and give great communication to one another.
I would definitely recommend this organisation and the opportunity to work with any of these wonderful teams, or all of them, is definitely worth doing, not only to learn new skills, but also for such a wonderful and fun experience.
A big thank you to Stafford & Cannock League of Hospital Friends for taking me onboard as part of their team, I was truly sad to go, but they will never be forgotten and I plan on keeping in touch.”
