SCLOF are working with Books4Home
Following discussions with Beverley Ricketts (District Co-Chair of Rotary 1210 District), the League of Friends have agreed to give any children’s books they may receive as a donation to Books4Home, in exchange for adult books for the League of Friends to sell at our Coffee Bars at County Hospital, St George’s Hospital in Stafford, and Cannock Chase Hospital. The League of Friends continue to raise money for local hospitals in Stafford and Cannock.
What Rotary Books4Home do:
- Receive donations of pre-read books from:
- Rotary Clubs
- Individuals
- Soroptimists
- Schools
- Libraries
- Chat with teachers (and children) to find out what types of books they would prefer to receive (if at all possible)
- Deliver books to:
- Nursery schools
- Primary Schools
- SEN Schools
- High Schools
- Youngsters choose their special book to take home, READ and keep forever.
Books4Home have so far given over 110,000 children across Staffordshire, Shropshire, and parts of the West Midlands a book of their own to take home!
